“The Mount Dora Center for the Arts is a non-profit collaborative leader, which plays an integral role in the community, by demonstrating the passion and commitment to the development of the arts through progressive and diverse educational programs, dynamic exhibits and an arts festival which is the foundation of artistic expression within the community.”

Brief Description of Organization's Programs & Services

Mount Dora Center for the Arts was conceived in 1975, when a group of citizens banded together to produce the first annual Mount Dora Arts Festival, with the idea of raising funds to begin an Arts Center in Lake County. Now, almost thirty-nine years from the first arts festival, the Mount Dora Center for the Arts continues to serve the community by providing exhibitions, lectures, educational classes and programs, arts camp, art strolls and other supporting activities to promote the arts in our community.

Skills and talents of ideal candidate:

Willing to take responsibility for advancing the mission, and objectives of MDCA by actively participating in Board activities, serving as a community advocate.

Time Commitment

2-year term. Board meets the 2nd Wednesday each month. The board is required to attend meetings for planning and implementing the events Art of the Deal and Arts Festival
