Organization's mission:

Our mission is to be the recognized authority in Seminole County for information regarding high quality school readiness and child care services which allow parents to make informed choices when selecting childcare providers. We carry out our mission through collaborative partnerships with early education and care professionals and concerned community leaders to: • enhance the quality of school readiness services in Seminole County; • promote community awareness of critical factors regarding early learning; • provide scholarships for eligible low-income children to attend child care centers; and • increase participation in the Voluntary Prekindergarten program available to all four-year olds in Seminole County.

Brief Description of Organization's Programs & Services

The School Readiness (SR) program provides financial assistance for the cost of childcare to Seminole County residents whose gross income is at or below 150-200 percent of the federal poverty level. The SR network consist of 165 childcare providers. SR funds also pay for Child Care Resource & Referrals, Developmental Screenings and Quality Improvement programs for providers.

Interested business professionals with experience in the areas of law, finance, professional development, education or general business are encouraged to apply.

Time Commitment

Four year commitment. Annual quarterly meetings: three quarterly meetings with 1-2 hours duration each, and one fiscal year-end strategic planning board meeting with 7-8 hours duration.
