ArtReach Orlando is a 501c (3), non-profit organization providing art programming to children in difficult economic and social situations in Orange County, Florida. ArtReach Orlando exists to enrich the lives of youth through the healing process of art. Our niche is to serve youth who are in situations where they need to be heard, valued, loved, by using the process of art to help them know their self-worth.In fostering creativity, we are encouraging and empowering children to imagine the positive changes they wish to see and be in their own lives, their communities, and the world.

ArtReach Orlando offers high quality visual art programming, often combined with other art forms, to children and teens, supported by an outstanding team, and proven partnerships with Orange County schools and other community partners. Our programs provide an opportunity to work with children in a manner that strengthens a child’s sense of self-worth and community. ArtReach Orlando is committed to exploring the nexus between art and social justice.

 

Overview

The Executive Director is responsible for ArtReach Orlando’s consistent achievement of its core focus, niche in the community and goals. The Executive Director oversees institutional planning and development, board relations, fundraising and grant-writing, strategic partnerships, public relations, and programming.

The Executive Director works closely with the founder and reports to the Board of Directors. At present, the Executive Director will oversee four part-time staff members and coordinate with several independent contractors.This is a part time job (20h) located in Winter Park, FL. The position requires traveling within Orange County area, attending some evening and weekends special events.

Responsibilities

·      Increasing visibility and branding of ArtReach Orlando - serving as the Ambassador of the organization and ensuring proper representation to its various constituencies. Management and growth of strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement.

·      Board relations – Manage relationships and communications with Board of Directors. Schedule Board meetings, develop agendas and background materials, facilitate meetings and maintain minutes and related records. Help identify potential new qualified Board members and assist in their recruitment.

·      Work closely with the Board and Founder to develop and diversify funding sources, including grant writing, major gift fundraising, annual giving, cultivation and stewardship of individual, foundation, and corporate donors. Sets financial priorities and manage finances well to ensure the organization is operating in a manner consistent with the needs of programs and staff. 

·       Work with program directors to support quality development, design and delivery of curriculum and programs.  Will provide administrative components of all program services including contract negotiations, contract and grant management, budget, and performance evaluations and training. 

·       The ideal candidate will lead and manage the organization as a servant leader to a very competent staff. Creating a collaborative, positive presence and atmosphere that cultivates and produces promise and hopefulness are keys to success for our new executive director. 

 

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have a proven ability as a leader and can bring their own unique vision, development acumen and energy to advance ArtReach Orlando to strengthen its reach and impact in our community. 

·      Committed and passionate about ArtReach Orlando’s core focus and unique niche. 

·      Extensive experience in non-profit management; Passion for and understanding of non-profit arts and its impact on emotional intelligence strongly preferred.

·      Demonstrated success in cultivating and maintaining relationships with foundations, corporations, government agencies, individual donors and prospects.Familiarity with art nonprofit funding community preferred.  

·      History of positive collaboration with staff and Board of Directors, including Board recruiting, cultivation, training and development.

·      Enthusiasm for the community arts programming, arts-infused educational practices and/or youth development. 

·      Exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

·      Innovative, strategic thinker with initiative, passion, and a history of great results.

·      Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management/Art or related field required. Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management/Art administration preferred.
