The Development Officer is an engaging professional responsible for the creation and planning of CLSMF’s fundraising program. Serving as the primary fundraiser for the organization, the Development Officer will articulate the critical role of philanthropy to the community while maximizing the financial gift to the organization. The individual will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects and donors. In this key role, this position will work closely with Staff at all levels as well as interacting with Board Members and Community Members as a Fundraiser who understands and pursues front-line relationship building, increasing institutional giving and expanding CLSMF’s donor base.

 

The CLSMF Development Officer is a FT position with the ability to work both scheduled and flexible work hours, including some evenings/weekends, based on business need throughout CLSMF’s 12-county service area.

Responsible for the expansion of individual, corporate and foundation fundraising giving. The ideal candidate in this role performs collaborative work with leadership in the development of strategic fundraising plans and funding priorities. This will be accomplished through visits and other forms of direct personal contact while utilizing the Core Process to identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward prospects and donors. Conducts prospect research and creates strategies to match the potential donors’ interest. Works to significantly increase the portfolio of donors and increase their giving levels while meeting targeted goals and metrics. This position will support and manage the Marketing/Communication team.

 

BA/BS (related credentials desirable). Development Officer must have a minimum of two years fundraising experience and demonstrated ability in securing major gifts. Successful candidate will have highly polished presentation, organizational skills, the ability to effectively and consistently engage a broad audience and possess knowledge of funding sources available in Central Florida. Computer literate in Microsoft products, eTapestry (a plus). Valid Florida automobile license, use of own auto, and proof of insurance necessary.
