Ms. Portelli has worked in executive positions in the not-for-profit sector in central Florida for over 30 years. Ms. Portelli has:

• Managed a portfolio of grants with an annual grant-making budget of $500K-$1.5M with 16 years of experience in grant-making and community-building seeking policy, program and environmental change with a focus on increasing access to healthcare and healthy foods, active living, and healthy community design.
• Extensive not-for-profit experience in affordable housing, homelessness, workforce and welfare services, access to health care and community health in executive level positions.
• Developed and successfully executed statewide health funding collaborative that collectively supported projects on Medicaid reform, health news, food policy councils and the feasibility of establishing a state health policy center.
• Co-Founder/ Board Chair of Health News Florida (HNF), a state-wide online news publication dedicated to covering health issues in the nation’s third largest state. Founded in 2006 and raised funds statewide to sustain the organization until it joined WUSF Public Media in Tampa in September 2012.
• Founder/Board Member of Bike/Walk Central Florida, Central Florida’s first cycling and pedestrian advocacy organization developing scalable programs demonstrated to improve safety on the roads.
• Community organizer using collective impact model in Eatonville, Florida, working with multi-sector collaborative to incorporate the principals of healthy community design in the Town’s planning documents and start up programs to assist in improving resident access to culturally appropriate care and active living opportunities.
