We all know that fundraising is both an art and a science. This is especially true in major gift fundraising where just one successful solicitation can have a substantial impact on your mission. With so much riding on each ask, it is critical that you master all aspects of the solicitation meeting. This experiential workshop will provide seasoned fundraisers with hands-on training exclusively focused on how to make the major gift ask and how to prepare for and respond to objections during the ask meeting. Participants will critique their peers during mock major gift asks and work in breakout groups to manage and overcome objections.

This workshop is intended for fundraising professionals with at least 2 years of experience.

Learning Objectives:

  • Dissect each aspect of the major gift ask, applying art to the science of fundraising
  • Practice making the major gift ask and receive feedback from workshop leaders and peers
  • Become comfortable with managing objections and working with your prospect after the ask to secure the major gift.

Tuition: $80 members, $160 non-members
