An effective marketing plan is key to the success of your nonprofit. In this environment, it is even more important to market your mission and to keep your supporters and clients strongly connected. This workshop will equip you with the tools you need to upgrade your marketing efforts and connect them directly to achieving your organization's goals. Leave the day with a draft of your own marketing plan and new thinking on how to become invaluable to your organization.

  • Align your marketing strategy with your organization's goals 
  • Maximize the five stages of nonprofit marketing communication
  • Identify priority audiences and brand ambassadors
  • Prioritize marketing communication channels and calls to action
  • Identify actions to successfully implement your plan

Instructor: Shannon Seyler

 Shannon Seyler has worked with a variety of nonprofit organizations to re-envision their brands and strengthen their marketing and development communications strategy for over twenty years. Recently, as strategy director for the branding firm Zehno, Shannon worked with colleges, universities and other education-oriented nonprofits across the country, building strategic foundations that launched award-winning creative concepts and campaigns. Shannon worked with nearly twenty schools including Loyola University New Orleans, Marymount California University and Iowa State University Foundation. She has also worked with social-impact nonprofits such as Families Helping Families of Southeast Louisiana to better articulate their mission to an array of audiences including donors, potential service partners and families in need. Shannon also served as marketing director for the Louisiana Children’s Museum, bringing professional branding and visitor market research to a beloved, statewide destination experience.

Shannon has extensive experience developing brand position strategy, message platforms across audiences, market research, marketing and development communications plans, leadership and stakeholder consensus building, as well as translating and sustaining a brand strategy focus in creative teams. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Cornell University and a social enterprise certificate from Community Wealth Ventures.
