Corporate partnerships offer an opportunity to enhance your annual funding, gain new volunteers to support your work, and potentially add top community leaders to your organization. In this session you will learn strategies, specific do’s and don’ts, and begin your reach into building corporate partnerships. 

Participants will learn:

  • The difference between working with corporate donors and foundations, government funders, or individuals.
  • The keys to acquisition, cultivation, and retention of corporate partners.
  • How to show value proposition to corporations  

Cost: $80 members, $160 non-members


Shelley Rodgers, Vice President of Development, Orlando Science Center

Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Shelley Rodgers has deep roots in the Central Florida community. Shelley graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree with a Bachelor in Science from the University of Florida and continued her education at the University of Central Florida, earning a Master’s in Nonprofit Management. With over 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Shelley has enjoyed serving her community and is passionate about issues impacting children and families. As the Vice President of Development at Orlando Science Center, Shelley is able fulfill her passion by promoting STEM education for children and families of all ages and backgrounds. In her role, Shelley leads a team of nine nonprofit professionals responsible for raising $4 million in annual support along with $30 million in a Comprehensive Campaign. In her spare time, Shelley enjoys spending time her with husband and four sons. 


Michael Mendillo, Director of Strategic Partnerships, Orlando Science Center

Originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Michael Mendillo and has a demonstrated passion for achieving results for nonprofit arts and culture organizations. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Music in Voice from the Shenandoah Conservatory and a Master of Science in Performing Arts Leadership and Management from Shenandoah University. Utilizing many skills picked up as a musician and working in the music industry, Michael has enjoyed a robust career building corporate relationships and raising millions in support of deserving missions. As Director of Strategic Partnerships at Orlando Science Center, Michael leads the corporate fundraising and grants teams to increase funding and support for STEM educational experiences in Central Florida. Outside of the office, Michael enjoys exploring Orlando and trying new restaurants with his partner.
