It is imperative that members of a Nonprofit Board understand their role in the fundraising process.  This interactive workshop will offer participants the tools needed to be successful contributors to fundraising for their organization.  Discussion will include a review of the typical donor journey and how boards can affect an organization’s fundraising revenue. Fundraising trends and the importance of data will be embedded throughout the session.  At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand a donor’s cycle of involvement
  • Articulate the meaning of the donor pyramid
  • Recognize how all board member involvement is equally important
  • Understand donor retention and strategies
  • Develop an actionable 60-day fundraising plan

Cost: $50 members, $100 non-members

Instructor: Jessa Heisey

Jessa Heisey offers 19 years of fundraising and development expertise.  Jessa’s primary knowledge is in board governance, fundraising, proposal writing and event management.  She has served as the Director of Development for both Children’s Home Society in Orlando (CHS) and A Gift for Teaching as well as a senior grant writer for CHS.  Jessa also consults with organizations seeking assistance to develop strategic plans to jumpstart their annual fund.

Jessa holds a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Central Florida, Crummer Management Certificate from Rollins College, Certificate in Fund Development from Indiana University Fundraising School and is a Leadership Orlando Class ‘64 graduate.  She expects to receive the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation later in 2019. 

She volunteers weekly at Sabal Point Elementary, running a Fellowship of Christian Athletes club with 100+ students and teaching monthly art history lessons in the classroom.  In her leisure time she enjoys discovering the next best restaurant in Central Florida and traveling with her husband and two daughters.
