Please join us for the Measuring for Success, where you will learn how to develop and implement a strategic and actionable Evaluation Plan—one that will help you create operational efficiencies, better understand the return on your investments and achieve strategic business goals.

Nonprofit staff work diligently to address today’s most pressing social challenges. They provide the best programs, products and services, in hope of improving the lives of those they serve. In today’s competitive funding environment, sophisticated funders require evidence that grantees are leveraging funding dollars by operating efficiently and effectively and achieving maximum impact. How do we know our efforts are working and how do we demonstrate this to funders?

Morning Session: Outcome Based Evaluations Process 

What is the value of incorporating Evaluation into your organization's operations? How can you be a catalyst in establishing practices, policies and procedures that will allow your organization’s staff to demonstrate the impact of their social change efforts? In this session, you will learn about evaluation theory, terms, processes and tools.

Afternoon Session: Measuring Your Programs

How do you decide what is important to measure? What are the best ways to capture that data? What are the best ways to use that data for learning, strategic planning and fundraising? This session will focus on identifying what to measure, methods for data collection and best practices in communicating your impact.

Learning Objectives
Participants will walk away with:

  1. A general understanding of Evaluation terminology, theory and practice;
  2. Best practices in Evaluation Planning; and
  3. Specific tools that can be used to develop a comprehensive Evaluation Plan.

Tuition: $160 members, $320 non-members.

Instructor: Tanya A. Hill, D.H.Ed.


Dr. Hill is a Data & Analytics professional with expertise in leveraging research and evaluation methodologies to improve strategic decision-making, reduce risk, create operational efficiencies, maximize return on investments and achieve key performance indicators. She is proficient in applying qualitative and quantitative data and analytics insights to achieve measurable business success and affect positive social change.

Dr. Hill has experience that spans a wide range of evaluation roles. She has lead and collaborated on multi-site and multi-organization evaluations that cover numerous social issues—health, housing, unemployment and human rights—at the local, state, national and international levels. In this capacity, Dr. Hills has a proven track record of recruiting, collaborating with and maintaining community stakeholder participation to achieve measurable change.

She has extensive experience developing evaluation plans; collecting data for outcome and fidelity-measures; developing and delivering trainings on evaluation; providing technical assistance on evaluation and applying evaluation theory, methodology and techniques to strategies for addressing today’s most pressing business and social challenges.
