The Director of Store Management is responsible for ensuring the profitable management and safe operation of the Sharing Center Thrift Store, Boutique, Furniture Store, Warehouse and trucks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Making a budget and setting sales goals annually
  • Maintaining the store to ensure that it is fully stocked and the premises are safe and clean and all needed supplies are available
  • Marketing store sales through social network, E-Bay, Craig’s list
  • Recruiting, training and oversight of paid staff and volunteers by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; monitoring and praising job results   
  • Formulating pricing policies by reviewing merchandise on hand, checking competitors’ pricing, following sales trends and authorizing clearance sales
  • Organizing promotions, displays and events
  • Monitoring the status of donations in the Warehouse.  Communicate with staff to ensure the flow of merchandise to limit stagnate goods
  • Responding to customer complaints and comments
  • Maintaining the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements 
  • Procuring new and steady streams of merchandise by establishing relationships within the community and with supporting Churches
  • Reporting physical, equipment and operational needs
  • Initiate changes to improve business
  • Developing, implementing and ensuring adherence to store, warehouse and driver policies and procedures
  • Collaborating with The Sharing Center departments to fulfill our mission of providing and generating revenue to meet the needs of our community
  • Other duties as assigned

Time Requirements:

The Director of Store Management position is forty hours, full-time, salaried and requires some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications include:

  • A heart for ministry through The Sharing Center
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Superior customer service
  • Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Budget development and weekly sales figures analysis and projections
  • Minimum of three years in managing an employee team
  • Retails sales background helpful
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, sales, marketing or related field preferred
