"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you always got." - Mark Twain

Raising awareness about the mission of your organization is a top priority -- now more than ever.  We’re entering a world based almost entirely on projects, partnerships, and real connections -- three forces that drive innovation and make change happen in our culture. Through this learning experience, you'll gain the knowledge and skills needed to creatively build awareness about your organization’s mission, secure buy-in, and lead your intended audience to take action. Together, we’ll tackle these topics through group projects and discussions, and the intense collaboration that comes from doing work that matters.

You will learn to:

  • Develop projects that attract new clients and increase loyalty with current customers.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic (and mutually beneficial) partnerships.
  • Create innovative marketing projects to share your story, garner stronger awareness and a positive image within the community.

Cost: $95 members, $190 non-members

Instructor: Melissa Mason Braillard, Director of Marketing Communications, Orlando Shakespeare Theater

Like Spiderman and Peter Parker, Melissa leads a double life.

In her professional life, she brings more than 15 years of marketing and sales experience within the non-profit arts sector. Since moving to Orlando in 2004, Melissa has helped transform the city into a dynamic destination for arts and culture and created a range of audience development activities that have positively affected thousands of children, students, and adults in multicultural communities. Through her work with Orlando Shakespeare Theater, she has raised more than 10 million in earned ticket revenue ensuring the artistic vision of the Theater and increasing the growth of a diverse Central Florida audience.

Her other persona, the creative one, is busy directing plays and musicals for young audiences, creating cabaret performances, and traveling with her family. Sometimes the boundary between the two lives is not clear, and she approves of that. Melissa also believes these invisible connections are the way to challenge and change the status quo.
