Today, we have more than one donor management system to choose from.  When there are more choices, it becomes difficult to remember what you are looking for and why you need it.

Data is when experiences, thoughts, movement, places, ideas, interactions, and more are captured and stored. That data comes to life when you make sense of it and use it!

In this workshop, you will use the Cycle of Involvement, a principle taught in our EBI fundraising workshops, to understand what data you need to capture and store about your donors. Using this, you will begin developing an idea of what you need that data to do (dashboards, reports, etc.) and ultimately what you need your donor database to do. We will use Idealware’s guide, A Consumer’s Guide to Donor Mangagment Systems as a resource to conceptualize what kind of donor management system will work for your organization and your needs.

Participants will:

  • Understand what data they need to capture and store in their donor management system
  • Gain tools and resources to determine which donor database to consider/choose

Cost: $50 members, $100 non-members

Instructor: Min Sun Kim, Program Manager, Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership

Min Sun Kim is the Program Manager at the Edyth Bush Institute, and is responsible for overseeing open enrollment programs. She additionally oversees the Central Florida Compensation and Benefits Survey, the Grant Professional Affinity Group, and Successful Start: Bootcamp for New Nonprofit Executive Directors.

Throughout her career, Min has joined organizations, both nonprofit and for-profit, during transitional periods. Her keen eye for details, fresh outlook to improve or maintain current processes, and her ability to bring a diverse team together, has moved organizations towards positive change and a unified brand. She is a proud graduate from the University of Central Florida and is currently pursuing her MBA at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.

Her nonprofit experience, while at Harbor House and the Assistance Fund, includes overseeing key annual events, managing all marketing functions, working on a team to develop the nationally recognized R3 app, managing logistics of capital campaigns, stewarding donors, and being a key team player for both the marketing and development departments.
