Businesses in the United States, and Central Florida in particular, are poised and eager to incorporate corporate social responsibility (CSR) into the important work they do. They believe business can be a force for good and are implementing CSR programs, aligning their values with their daily operations. Join us to take a journey through the changing landscape of corporate social responsibility, while painting a clear picture of what CSR is today and its benefits to business. More importantly, we will explore ways nonprofits can be proactive in enabling CSR programs and in doing so, bring maximum benefit to their organizations and the community.

Participants will:

  • Understand CSR from a corporate perspective and how that can enhance your corporate partnership strategy
  • Use insights as springboard for pursuing innovative ideas for corporate partnership opportunities in own organization.
  • Understand essential steps for getting your nonprofit started.

This is NOT a corporate sponsorship workshop and will not focus on corporate fundraising.

Cost: $50 members, $100 non-members

Executive Directors who attend this workshop may bring another staff member at no additional cost.  Please contact the Edyth Bush Institute at 407-975-6414 for more information.

Instructor: Kecia Carroll, Manager of Corporate Citizenship, Edyth Bush Institute for Philanthropy & Nonprofit Leadership

Kecia Carroll is the manager of corporate citizenship at Edyth Bush Institute where she raises awareness for and engagement in corporate social responsibility and its benefits to companies, the nonprofit sector and the community.

Kecia is a marketing strategist and a corporate social responsibility (CSR) champion with a career divided between in-house leadership and consulting roles. She has worked with dozens of organizations -- from startups to Fortune 500 companies, professional service firms and social enterprises, helping them build their businesses and their brands. In her role as a senior advisor, Kecia advised companies on effective ways to integrate corporate social responsibility into their overall business strategy for positive impact to the bottom line, but equally as important, the community.

She comes to us via Denver, CO where she also served on the advisory board of the Forward Steps Foundation and as a mentor for CEC Middle College’s community service student club. Kecia graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Journalism, is a member of the Orlando Mayor’s City Academy and was a Rotary Business Exchange Scholar to China.
