A large part of stewardship in fundraising is the follow up to the gift.  What does your donor acknowledgement letter look like now and for gifts in the future?   Your letter is the key to continuing your relationship with the donor after the first gift is made. It is the bridge to your next gift.  Are you making it donor-centric?  What stories are you using to make it personal and to show the donor’s impact on the organization?  The end goal is more than a tax receipt; it is to invite future donor engagement in your mission.

This will be a hands-on opportunity for you to redesign your letters. Please be sure to bring a copy of what you currently send to donors after their financial gift is made.

Learning objectives:

  • Learn new strategies for writing personalized, donor-centered acknowledgement letters
  • Understand importance of stewardship in building donor loyalty, the holy grail of fundraising

Cost: $80 members, $160 non-members
